Data Engineer

* Support Data Analysts and Scientists * Maintain our data platform (this include troubleshoot SQL and ETL/Hadoop Eco system environment problems) * Administrate and develop ETL jobs to make data-driven decisions * Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality * Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems * Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets * Locate and define new process improvement opportunities * Model data and metadata for ad-hoc and pre-built reporting as needed * Support end users on ad hoc data requests and become a subject matter expert on functional side of the business * Communicate effectively with users at all levels, both verbally and in written form

* 3+ years experience in a Data Engineer or programming role * Strong experience extracting and transforming complex data sets (ETL process design and administration) * Previous experience working with relational databases * Strong technical understanding of data modeling, design, and architecture principles * Previous experience taking business requirements from concept to implementation * Previous experience using the Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Map Reduce, Pig, Hive, etc.) * Programming skills in SQL, Python, and/or Java * Excellent communication skills and willingness to take initiative to contribute beyond basic responsibilities * Knowledge of statistical methodologies and techniques * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline **PLUSES :** * Expertise in the Informatica Power Center or other enterprise ETL tools * Experience in Cognos tool * Fluent in Korean
