Summary
Under the direction of the Managing Director, Investor Relations this position remains intimately familiar with the portfolio investment performance for assigned funds and communicates results to Senior Staff and external parties as needed. Communication includes ensuring timely, accurate, and complete reporting and responses to existing and potential investor inquiries and preparing sensitivity analysis as requested. With typically less than five years’ experience perform various functions including inputting data into web-based databases, completing standardized templates in Excel, preparing data for investor presentations and completing ad hoc requests. Demonstrates basic knowledge of the real estate investing industry while consistently exercising discretion and sound judgment. Works closely and collaboratively with members of the Investor Relations Group, Research and Analysis, and Portfolio and Asset Management. **Work Environment:** * This job primarily operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones. Responsibilities
* Under the direction of the Managing Director, Investor Relations maintain comprehensive familiarity with portfolio investment performance for assigned funds, preparing and tracking historical reports and communicating results to external parties as needed. Communication includes ensuring timely, accurate, and complete reporting and responses to Senior Staff, existing and potential investor inquiries, and preparing sensitivity analysis as requested. * With oversight, proficiently perform a variety of investment analysis and complete all due diligence requests from investors and consultants. In coordination with the Portfolio and Asset Management and Research and Analysis teams, assist in underwriting and effectively explaining portfolio level financial analysis to internal and external parties as needed. * Assist in preparation of annual investor meeting presentation, quarterly investor updates, investor and consultant presentation materials and other regularly distributed reports. * Proficiently operate Company’s portfolio management software system and prepare ad-hoc reports as needed. * Organize, attend and actively contribute to internal Staff meetings and Investor Relations weekly meetings. Interact with various levels of Staff and communicate confidently in a collaborative team environment. * On a day-to-day basis support the Investor Relations department in formulating, establishing and reinforcing the professional corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events. * Demonstrate commitment to National’s Sustainability Policy and best practices where feasible by incorporating environmental, social and governance dimensions into daily business activities and decision-making. * Demonstrate commitment to and abide by National’s Regulatory Compliance Manual and Code of Ethics. * Periodic overnight travel is required on an as needed project-specific basis to attend meetings, complete research, and participate in other special events. **Other Duties and Responsibilities:** * Support integration of portfolio management systems, in particularly software services, to collect, analyze and integrate portfolio data in an effective and meaningful way. * As requested, coordinate investment management research consulting with the Head of Research, providing research and analysis as needed. * Develop and maintain relationships within the real estate investment management consulting industry. * As requested, support National’s and its affiliate company’s analysis of labor hours including draft analysis, production of quarterly results and sensitivity analysis. * Keep abreast of market conditions, industry news, and legal issues; continue professional development as appropriate.
Ideal Candidate
* A bachelor’s degree is required; a major in accounting, finance, economics, or real estate is preferred. * Prior experience and a graduate degree is preferred. Must be highly detailed and possess excellent financial, mathematical and statistical skills and can often work with complex databases and/or quantitative tools with proficiency and accuracy for extended periods of time. Must have a strong work ethic and remain committed to meeting deadlines. * Have the ability to exhibit solid analytical and critical thinking skills and effective verbal and written communication; have the ability to attempt to understand and appropriately articulate financial considerations, market demand, project feasibility and financing. * Must be able to interact professionally with investors, consultants, colleagues and outside parties while multi-tasking, in a fast-paced, complex working environment. * Proficiency at an intermediate level of Microsoft Office Suite in Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Word is required, in addition to the Argus real estate analysis software. * Required to exhibit fundamental commercial real estate knowledge, sound judgment and initiative. * Must have the ability to demonstrate solid analytical, critical thinking and effective verbal and written communication. * Must be detail-oriented and be extremely careful, thorough, and disciplined in order to ensure reporting accuracy. * Must be self-motivated, possess a strong work ethic and demonstrate problem-solving, communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
