Software Developer II

As a Software Developer II, you will be responsible for defining, developing, testing, analyzing, maintaining and enhancing software applications in support of the achievement of business requirements. This will include designing, coding, testing, and analyzing software programs and applications. You will also research, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle with a strong focus on performance, security and maintainability.

**Other important responsibilities include reviewing code changes to ensure they meet requirements. Desirable candidates will be able to effectively:** * Participate in code reviews, training and communication of design standards * Lead efforts to establish programming standards * Identify and implement testing process improvements, industry utilities and/or procedures that allow more effective testing * Consult with team members and the Senior Architect to create high-level comprehensive solution designs * Manage large project plans with guidance and suggest improvements to the process * Provide technical or business training to IS professionals beyond the immediate work team * Design and construct database storage mechanisms following best practice guidelines * Ensure application security by designing appropriate threat models and testing for exploits * Perform other duties as assigned

* College degree in Computer Science or Information Systems; or any combination or experience and education that provides the skills and abilities necessary to perform the job is preferred * Proficiency in J2EE architecture and frameworks. Including: Java, JSP, AJAX, JSON, Struts, Spring, Spring MVC, EJB, Hibernate. * Demonstration of an in-depth understanding of at least one file structure and database, preferably MS SQL Server. * 2 years minimum related work experience * Solid verbal and written communication talent with a strong team orientation * Ability to present information effectively and clearly, and respond to questions/concerns * Exceptional critical thinking and data analysis skills are essential
