Investment Accounting Manager

As an Investment Accounting Manager, you will primarily be responsible for overseeing and evaluating the Investment Accounting area according to professional, regulatory and company standards. As such, you will review and provide direction and leadership in the following areas - Investment Accounting under both GAAP and Statutory requirements and Fair Value accounting and disclosure requirements.

* Analyze and review reports and monthly investment journal entries and account reconciliations * Review and evaluate existing procedures and operations but also make recommendations regarding process improvement * Assist with daily treasury management responsibilities and functions * Coordinate, review and analyze financial statements, footnote disclosures, reports, calculations and analysis * Monitor workflow and productivity to ensure deadlines are met accordingly * Mentor and coach your team so as to continually promote their personal and professional development * Provide analysis and reports to management as requested * Make recommendations regarding hiring new team members, complete performance evaluations, offer input on salary, promotion and termination where appropriate * Work with internal and external auditors as necessary

* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from a four year college or university preferred * 5-7 years’ experience in accounting * Prior supervisory experience is essential * Solid, demonstrable understanding of accounting concepts and principles * Ability to organize and self-prioritize in a fast-paced work environment * Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication talent * Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills * Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, most notably Microsoft Excel
