As a Business Development Specialist, you will be primarily responsible for managing an agency base to grow our product lines. You will have a defined set of objectives related to the growth of the business which will include renewing existing accounts and also adding new business.
- Maintain responsibility for new business production, including achievement of submission, quote, and premium objectives
- Work with an external agency base to renew a book of in-force business with an appropriate retention ratio
- Handle agency review and analysis, including establishing and communicating expectations and measuring actual results/activities versus expectations, then communicate findings and take corrective action as necessary
- Proactively prospect for new accounts with agents and insureds to achieve specific production objectives
- Create and develop new marketing ideas/materials, as needed, to increase sales and educate others about our products
- Handle special projects/perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, or one to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience highly preferred
- P&C License required, or must be willing to obtain within first 90 days of employment
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication talent is essential
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Solid analytical and critical thinking skills
- Willingness to travel as it may be expected up to 20% of the time with this role
