Responsibilities
Are you obsessed with data, tools and metrics? Have you used any ETL or data pipeline tools to process data? Do you love to build teams and manage talented engineers? Are you interested in tools that gather, store, and analyze user metrics and product usage? We are looking for a Manager of Data Engineer to manage a team while contributing ideas, innovation, solutions and code to one of the hottest startups out of NYC!
Ideal Candidate
- Balanced managing engineers and making individual technical contributions. - A minimum of 1 year of applicable experience in leading and managing a group of engineers. - Experience with data processing tools and best practices within the Python ecosystem. - Built, shipped, and maintained software applications using OOP and/or functional programming principles. - Worked with SQL databases. - Comfort working intimately on a codebase with other developers, using version control and group repositories. - The ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, client focused, startup environment. - The ability to attract, develop and retain top talent. - Strong analytical and technical skills to identify critical and impacting issues, escalate them and drive them to resolution. - BS or BA or equivalent experience. You might also have: - Supported Product, Client, Engineering, and Management teams from a Data perspective. - Partnered with Security and Compliance teams to ensure adherence to all operational policies and requirements. - Worked with and created Excel macros. - Worked with iPython/Jupyter notebook and Pandas. - Experience in a robust MVC framework like Django or Flask. - Created command-line tools for *Nix systems. - Built software using test-driven development methods
