Marketing Specialist

The National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) is a membership organization representing more than 2,500 colleges, universities, and higher education service providers across the country and around the world.

The Marketing Specialist is charged with assisting in the management and delivery of digital and print marketing programs of NACUBO. The incumbent will support the director and Communications and Marketing in the day-to-day operations of the marketing department and play a vital role in the promotion of NACUBO programs and services. The incumbent in the role will also work closely with the Senior Manager of Marketing on the creation, production and delivery of marketing e-blasts, using association management software to generate comprehensive lists for message distribution to ensure target audiences are reached. The Marketing Specialist will also work with the Senior Manager of Marketing to consistently track campaign performance and impact, and assist in identifying strategies for increased effectiveness.

* Formats and distributes marketing e-blasts using email marketing software system. * Creates targeted distribution lists for message dissemination. * Conducts message testing with internal clients for approval before distribution. * Maintains image files for electronic communications. * Ensures sponsor logos for marketing email campaigns are accurate. * Proofreads all messages for typos and bad links. * Optimizes email campaigns across all social media platforms (i.e., Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook) and mobile. * Tracks and monitors campaign performance and generates analytics reports to director and internal clients. * Manages NACUBO subscriber list. * Regularly updates multiple contact lists in email marketing software system using association management software system. * Manages communications calendar, scheduling upcoming e-blasts in consultation with the Sr. Manager and internal clients; and updates calendar regularly using TBD system that enables staff access to marketing activity and results in real time. * Generates targeted mailing lists for print collateral mailings using association management software system. * Manages marketing inventory (i.e., annual meeting giveaways and other promotional collateral). * Works with director in the selection of promotional items for NACUBO special events and manages vendors to ensure timely delivery. * Processes invoices from email marketing software vendor to ensure timely payment. * Performs other duties as assigned.

* Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations or related field, required. * Minimum two (2) years’ experience in marketing, preferably in an association environment. * Skilled in digital content distribution. * Proficient working in email marketing software systems, including list creation and audience segmentation. * Skilled in association management software, preferably netFORUM. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Exceptional writing, editing and creative skills, and solid relationship management skills. * Proficient web knowledge including use of a CMS and HTML. * Knowledge of Microsoft Excel. * Strong proofreading skills and attention to detail is a must. * Strong time management skills. * Demonstrated experience with graphics tools such as Adobe, Photoshop and Illustrator. * The successful individual will demonstrate an ability to work in a collaborative team environment as a leader, team member and professional role model. **Physical Demands** * Must be able to move about the office as well as sit for long periods of time. * Must be able to use the phone and computer, sometimes for prolonged periods. * Significant travel may be required.
