Responsibilities
Directs all aspects of Accounts Receivable, Premium Billing, Payroll and Benefits, Financial Planning and Analysis, including; establishment of policies, procedures, and reporting processes that promote accountability, compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, development and implementation of acceptable internal controls and the Model Audit Rule. Facilitate continual process improvement and integration in all assigned areas across multiple job locations. Direct all functions of the Accounts Receivable departments for MVP. Initiate, implement and monitor financial process improvement activities aimed at improving quality and timeliness of group and individual premium account reconciliations. Monitor AR agings and evaluate and ensure that AR allowances are sufficient. Ensure that AR details reconcile to the General Ledger and approve bad debt write-offs of group premiums. Direct all Premium billings to ensure proper rate table maintenance and manual rate loads including the development and monitoring of policies and procedures. Ensure efficient and effective cross departmental process with EAS, BSC and Sales to ensure that all groups and members receive accurate and timely invoices. Direct all functions of the Payroll and Benefits department. Ensure timely and accurate payment of salaries to employees including accurate tracking of time thru Timelink. Ensure all employee benefits are administered correctly including disability, workers comp, life insurance, 401k, and cobra benefits. Direct all functions of the Financial Planning and Analysis team including; annual Administrative budgets; Monthly variance analysis, ROI analysis of corporate initiative's and benchmark analysis. Analysis and oversight of MVP's corporate equity reserves to ensure MVP is adequately capitalized and in compliance with all regulatory reserve requirements. Maintain regular communications with executives, departmental managers, supervisors and staff regarding all finance operations issues and activities. Oversight and responsible for administrative budgets for all areas of oversight.
Ideal Candidate
Minimum Education: Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA or MBA highly desired. Minimum Experience: 10 years progressive experience in financial or accounting environment with a minimum of 5 years managerial/supervisory experience required. Managed care and/or health insurance industry experience highly desired. This position requires both operational and strategic experience. Strong analytic and forecasting experience strongly preferred. Required Skills: • Demonstrated success in problem solving and analysis. • Demonstrated strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and internal control concepts. • Demonstrated proficiency in developing clear, succinct, well-organized written materials to effectively and appropriately communicate policies. • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively one-to-one and in groups to all levels of the organization while demonstrating fluency, clarity, organization of thought and the ability to appropriately adjust communications for specific audiences. • Ability to prioritize and direct multiple tasks to their completion. • Intermediate Word skills • Intermediate Excel skills • Experience with financial applications. • Understanding of internal controls regarding electronic financial applications. • Travel to subsidiary locations required.
