Summary
Imagine being part of a highly collaborative team of experienced engineers and technicians who work on a variety of projects supporting the exciting test systems we build. As a System Assembly Technician for MTS, you will have responsibilities for ensuring the final product meets customer specification and is ready for shipment. This includes performing system integration, diagnostics, testing, analyzing test data, running programs, loading software, troubleshooting and providing recommendations for improvement. This is a full-time opportunity that will support all of our test solutions including aerospace, ground vehicles, seismic systems, materials testing, energy and biomedical. Responsibilities
- Performs system integration and validation for new products and systems as defined by their design - Perform testing as defined by the test plan - Run diagnostics, isolate problems, provide feedback and suggestions to engineers to resolve problems and achieve system acceptance - Load software and run programs ensuring all systems are operational and providing accurate information. - Document observations and results and communicates the information to engineers - Suggests modifications to solve problems - Suggest appropriate tests for new products and systems - Travels to customer site, domestic or foreign, to perform on-site installation, calibration, modification or upgrades on systems. Installation may include uncrating, moving equipment to proper location, system hook-up, testing of functionality, acceptance testing and customer operational training. May handle engineering and/or service issues. - Ensures proper system configuration, function, performance, calibration and system integrity while following established procedures on standard systems and products or custom checkout plans on custom systems at the direction of the project engineer. - May be requested to conduct training and service programs in the operation and maintenance of company systems and products for customers or other MTS personnel. Gives technical advice, within scope of expertise, to customers or employees regarding operation, servicing and maintenance as well as product application.
Ideal Candidate
- Associates Degree or 3 years of relevant experience with large systems, preferably in final assembly - 3-5 years of experience of electronics troubleshooting, software controls, mechanical assembly of large systems - Experience /understanding of electronic system controls/PLC's and an understanding of mechanical and hydraulic systems - Ability to travel up to 25% to assist with installations **Additional Qualifications:** * Motor drive/ABB skills desired
