Summary
The Senior Government Accountant is a key member of the Finance team reporting directly to the Director of Accounting. The Senior Government Accountant will be primarily responsible for providing operational, project and administrative support to the Finance team for government related arrangements
Responsibilities
* Primarily responsible for accounting related to government contacts (e.g., Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority “BARDA”) * Responsible for certain monthly financial statement close processes including recording costs incurred, reimbursement invoicing, and reviewing key account reconciliations * Collaborates with program management to develop, execute, manage and enhance processes relative to the Earned Value Management System (“EVMS”) * Manages and maintains EVMS finance tool * Ensures adherence to finance related procedures of government arrangements (i.e., experience with Federal Acquisition Requirements) * Other analysis as needed
Ideal Candidate
**Minimum Qualifications** * Bachelors degree and a minimum of 4+ years’ experience in accounting/finance * Solid organizational skills and ability to balance multiple priorities in a dynamic environment * Excellent analytical skills and able to develop analytical/reporting tools * Great written and verbal communication skills, able to present to leadership * Demonstrates ability to own/manage respective responsibilities and work with limited daily direction * General ability to work in team * Adaptable and demonstrates resourcefulness to be proactive and solutions-oriented * Able to lead process improvements * EVMS experience **Preferred Qualifications** * Master’s degree preferred * Biotech experience preferred * Pharmaceutical development and/or manufacturing experience preferred **Competencies** * Leading Change * Collaboration * Communication * Decision Making * Business Acumen
