Responsibilities
Responsibilities: - Leads a cross-functional team for the Non Apparel Division - Create assortments based on historical and current product performance - that align with the business metrics, also taking into consideration: brand image, trends and competitive opportunities - Manage formal and informal relationships with business partners to ensure all deliverables needed to successfully build and develop assortments that exceed financial goals - Ensure that pricing and promotional strategies maximize volume and margin goals - Competitive knowledge: visit markets to become the expert on the competitive landscape and read relevant publications to keep on top of trends - Identify risks and opportunities relating to product, flow and presentation - Partner merchandise planning team on the following processes: assortment planning, development of financial plans, OTB, in season strategies and allocations to maximize inventory performance - Work cross functionally with Finance, Marketing, Operations, Customer Service and Technology, in order to gain alignment behind strategic needs and priorities
Ideal Candidate
Qualifications Undergraduate degree or MBA a plus (business or fashion related major) - 10 + years experience in retail and/or e-commerce environment; prior experience in the luxury sector (specifically non apparel) a plus - Prior experience as DMM or Senior Buyer - Knowledge and experience with merchandising financials and proven ability to manage profitability - Proven experience to successfully lead a buying organization through process of merchandise planning and acquisition and open-to-buy - Experience with coaching, training and managing a team - Comprehensive knowledge of the luxury market; keen sense of fashion - Strong negotiation skills and proven ability to manage vendor relationships - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and handle multiple projects in a fast paced environment
