Summary
A human factors expert is needed to conduct research on human subjects that perform tasks for full spectrum cyber operations. The researcher will define, develop and conduct studies and instrumented experimentation of human subjects and teams to define or improve operational workflows as well as perform assessesment and perform solutions analysis of capabilities for cyber operations.
Responsibilities
The researcher must also have strong human-centered design skills and must be able to perform software development and engineering, primarily with regards to visualization design and implementation, but secondarily in support of developing experimental apparatus for research. The researcher will perform design studies, develop mock-ups of software system interactions with a focus on visualization and human factors, and will implement prototype systems that can be used as part of experimental apparatus or feed higher maturity capability development by other members of Group 51. The successful candidate will have a mix of human factors, computer science and design educational and work experience. Experience developing plans for and conducting human-centered research are critical as is the ability to design, write and test working software. Fluency in one or more of the following is needed: Python, Java, Javascript, AJAX, Groovy, Ruby on Rails.
Ideal Candidate
A Ph.D in Computer Science, Design, Cognitive Psychology or related field is required, or a M.S. in the same with 5 years of experience is required. Prior experience involving IRTB process and approvals is required. Excellent oral and written communications skills are required. Ability to conduct local travel to and work within government sites and obtain user accounts on government networks is required.
