Responsibilities
* Maintain the equipment in the assigned area in reliable condition. Attend to breakdowns in a timeous manner continuously reducing downtime and waste. Ensure timely return to normal operation of equipment post repair and maintenance. * Dismantle, inspect, and rebuild mechanical assemblies to insure conformance to specifications or production requirements. * Works as a self-motivated individual with minimal supervision while functioning as a productive team member. * Performs set-up, adjustment, and timing of mechanical equipment. * Documents all work performed in a timely, accurate, and detailed manner using the current maintenance computer system and other reporting structures. Uses this information to make decisions to improve the reliability of the equipment and the process. Interfaces with the planners to track equipment condition. * Carry out root cause failure analysis, 5 Why and other suitable problem solving techniques to ensure effective repairs on equipment are carried out and recommend preventative action to eliminate future or repeat failures. * Suggest and execute modifications and improvements to equipment to meet changing production needs. * Rebuild all repairable parts. * Safe use and care of all hand and power tools and shop equipment * Thorough understanding of total equipment strategy and impacts to operations * Contributes to a safe work place by performing all tasks in accordance with O.S.H.A., E.P.A., F.D.A., Safe Work Plans, Lock-out/Tag-out safety rules, codes, policies and regulations.
Ideal Candidate
* Must be a minimum 21 years of age. * Minimum High School diploma or equivalent. * Industrial Journeyman card and on-the-job experience in a fast moving consumer goods manufacturing environment. * Basic skills in reading, writing, and mathematics are required. * Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated troubleshooting abilities.
