Responsibilities
Product Marketing Manager - Surface Commercial (SMB) A feat of engineering and a work of art, Surface has become one of the most critical businesses for Microsoft. In the past year, the “tablet that can replace your laptop” has changed the industry and we have been experiencing rapid growth. We are now setting out for another step-change in growth and are looking to expand our team with a product manager focused on the small and mid-sized (SMB) space. The Surface Product Manager - SMB, is responsible for marketing Surface in the commercial SMB space and the primary objective is to drive sales of Surface to small and mid-sized commercial customers across all channels. As part of this role, you will create or translate marketing plans for Surface in Canada based on an understanding of the market, competitive landscape, customer and economic dynamics. You will develop strong partnerships with other marketing stakeholders to lead and execute the fiscal year local priorities and partner across the organization to create the most impactful marketing strategy and execution plan. Your key deliverables will include annual marketing execution plan, launch plans, digital media plans, product content and programs, local customer evidence, and competitive positioning and response insights. CASMGSales 1. Own end to end marketing strategy and execution for Surface in SMB a. Increase awareness, purchase intent and delight SMB customers with Surface b. Work with key stakeholders in the subsidiary to develop and execute the plan c. Use messaging, value prop, and offers to excite customers to buy Surface d. Exceed units, revenue, and share goals for Surface in SMB 2. Build awareness and fans for Surface in SMB a. Delivery of high impact technology evangelism to internal and external audiences. b. Partner with PR Lead to ensure appropriate Surface PR activities are being prioritized. c. Drive customer references and evidence across industries and regions. d. Support and align with the Surface Category Lead in the execution of the category plan. 3. Grow and accelerate the SMB partner channel a. Work with the reseller and retail teams to grow sales in line with broader GTM b. Identify new and alternative channels to accelerate sales for Surface in SMB c. Partner with Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) to establish new GTM routes.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for an established marketer to provide leadership among cross-functional teams that will significantly impact both customer preference, partner satisfaction, and business results. The successful candidate must have demonstrated success in leading the development and execution of commercial marketing plans, managing complex projects, as well as the ability to manage a variety of responsibilities and deliverables required of this position. The ideal candidate will be a proven marketer with experience in the hardware business, highly organized, have strong problem solving and operational skills and the ability to thrive in ambiguous situations. Qualifications - Minimum 5-8 years in a marketing role - Proven commercial marketing experience - Proven operational and business management skills - Experience successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously - Proven track record of effective, results oriented cross-team collaboration - International /field experience a plus - BA/BS required, MBA preferred
