The Marketing and Communications Manager will be responsible for creating a cohesive brand identity for MicaSense with general oversight of marketing strategy, web site content, print collateral, social media, and company branded materials. This is a collaborative role with Business Development and Product Development teams to coordinate new product and service announcements, product positioning, and their related marketing and advertising campaigns.
- Manage the overall messaging for the MicaSense suite of hardware, cloud-based data solutions, and related services to support our channel partners and customers.
- Create and produce product materials including informational videos, web copy, presentations, and white papers / case studies (supported by outside research and applications engineering).
- Coordinate with the Business Development team to position MicaSense as a leader in the remote sensing and analytics industry
- Build and maintain central repository of marketing documentation and information, promotional materials, and training videos used by Business Development and MicaSense partners
- Lead the planning and coordination of conferences and trade-shows and associated exhibit design, layout, and logistics
- Be an active voice in the market segment, functioning as a spokesperson for MicaSense at events and with press and analysts
- Work with our partners and in-house applications specialists to develop white-papers and case studies that utilize MicaSense technologies
- Have 5+ years of related professional work experience in technology marketing
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field (MBA a plus)
- Be comfortable presenting and communicating with a wide variety of audiences, ranging from highly-technical early adopters to growers and farmers who have not yet had much experience with this emerging technology
- Be proficient in graphic and publishing software applications (Adobe Suite including InDesign)
- Possess the ability to merge business and technical concepts and terminology
- Be passionate about championing the wide adoption of sensor and data analytics that will help farmers grow crops more effectively to optimize yields, reduce chemical inputs, and feed the world
- International and channel marketing experience
- Experience with applications of remote sensing, unmanned aircraft, or similar technologies
