Summary
Support the design, development, and quotation process for product development and customer orders for standard product offerings of valves, actuators and related fluid control devices, from concept to product realization.
Responsibilities
* Establish the nature and objective of each assignment including specifications, procedures and other engineering concepts involved. * Develop new products including conceptual engineering, materials selection, design and analysis, prototyping and testing. Assure products meet or exceed the recommendations of governing specifications as well as assuring that sound engineering practices are applied. Solve complex technical problems. Involved in selection and subsequent communication with new product vendors. * Organize and coordinate cross functional teams to address technical issues. Communicate with upper management to report progress. * Make cost effective decisions concerning production parts and methods ensuring product conformance to design criteria. Follow up discussions with Manufacturing and Purchasing to resolve problems and implement solutions. * Analyze and resolve technical field problems as well as proivde technical support to customers strategic business units, distributors, Marketing and field sales. * Direct lab technicians and drafting personnel concerning development of new products and revision of existing proudcts. Create maintenance and operational instructions. * Participate on cross functional teams as technical representative toward achieving business goals incuding, Value Analysis programs and project order teams. * Continue professional development by keeping abreast of related emerging technologies and developments. * Requires extensive use of industry, Customer Regulatory standards and codes (e.g. API, ASME)
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor of Science degree in Engineer Science required. Mechanical Engineering is preferred. * Masters degree is preferred * 4-10 years of related engineering experience * Experience using engineering mechanics and modern engineering tools: FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis), CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics), FEA (Finite Element Analysis). * Effective written and oral communications skills. * Microsoft Office and computer proficiency. * Globe Valve experience
Compensation and Working Conditions

Working Conditions

Main work area is a professional office environment. Periodic visits to the manufacturing floor and laboratory for testing or resolution of product issues is requried.
