Summary
Responsible for providing professional nursing care to clinic patients under the supervision of physician/nurse practitioner and the clinic manager.
Responsibilities
* Demonstrates ability to access patient's general condition, particularly the acutely ill patient and ensures that needs are met. * Assists the physicain/nurse practitioner with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments. Provides direct patient care as ordered. * Documents all interventions, patient/family responses, medications dispensed or prescribed, hospital data and any other pertinent information in medical chart. * Promotes wellness by providing educational materials, communicating physician's advice and instructions. * Coordinates patient care by triaging patient phones calls regarding urgency of appointments and scheduling tests and admissions. * Adheres to infection control/safety guidelines, maintains equipment, instruments, and stocks supplies. Communicates the need to order supplies to the appropriate individual. * Acts as role model within the clinic to promote team work and enhance a positive work environment. * Possess excellent customer service. * Performs all patient care, nursing tasks and documentation according to the established clinic/system policies and the Arkansas Nurse Practice Act. * Adheres to basic ethical principals associated with government and insurance company reimbursements. Reports any observed questionable activities to the appropriate compliance officer or administrative manager. * Has a basic understanding of HIPAA regulations and performs job functions in a manner consistent with protecting patient confidentially. * Performs preop teaching and obtains necessary consents * Understands and practices sterile technique. Is able to scrub, gown, glove, and assist without contaminating field. Understands and practices guidelines for proper conduct in O.R. Is able to use necessary equipment properly. * Performs post op duties such as giving instructions for care and activity, contacting patient with pathology results, suture removal, etc.
Ideal Candidate
*Education:* High school diploma or equivalent Graduate of an accredited nursing program *Licensure:* Current Arkansas license as a registered nurse *Experience:* *Certifications:* * Basic Life Support Certification * Other: Ability to read and communicate effectively in English * Basic computer knowledge * Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-to-hand coordination * Requires working under stress * Requires irregular working hours *Preferred Education:* *Preferred Licensure:* *Preferred Experience:* Previous patient care experience in OBEY/GYNE setting *Preferred Certifications:* *Preferred Other:* Additional languages preferred
