Summary
Our Outside Vehicle Damage Appraiser performs inspections of both first and/or third party vehicles.
Responsibilities
* Advise management of any problems with shops or facilities that are being utilized. * Provide assistance in managing IA and Direct Repair facilities in their assigned State. * Download assignments daily throughout the day achieving dispatch to download goals of .5 per day. * Make contact with vehicle owner/shop within 24 hours. * Transmit completed estimates from Body Shop. * Appraise vehicles at Drive-in locations, body shops, and in the field. * Prepare estimates independently of outside influence. (Using accepted industry guidelines). * Negotiate agreed prices with repair shops. * Achieve goals as assigned by management (see monthly report card.) * Achieve daily appraisal quota of 6 per day. * Achieve 48 hour turnaround on assignments. * Compare favorably vs. specific state industry average estimate. * Achieve 80% pass rates of re-inspection as set by management. * Achieve maximum 20% supplement ratio. * Review incoming property damage subrogation demands. * If vehicle is a total loss: * Evaluate actual cash value. * Prepare Reconditioning Report & attach to claims content in Audatex. * Provide same day notice to NSA tow to move vehicle.
Ideal Candidate
* Experience in negotiating agreed prices with body shops. * Ability to set work priorities & goals and adjust to changing priorities. * Good communication (oral and written) and organizational skills. * Working knowledge of MS Office software programs such as outlook, word etc. * High School Diploma or equivalent. * Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. * 5+ years’ experience in appraising physical damage. * Advanced knowledge of Mitchell Auto, CCC and /or Audatex Appraising Program. * Excellent interpersonal/human relation skills.
