The Senior Business Systems Analyst provides general systems consulting, systems analysis, and task leadership related to the acquisition and use of computing systems in assigned business areas in the Information Services department at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center/Miller Children's & Women's Hospital Long Beach. Individuals in this role apply specific knowledge of MemorialCare business processes and systems to help identify/resolve systems problems and select possible automated systems solutions. Incumbents lead and participate in aspects of large and small projects, and are accountable for the success of assigned tasks; functions as a user contact and customer service liaison for Information Services and are accountable for assigned user area satisfaction. Sr. Analysts assist in educating individuals in and outside the department regarding policies and procedures related to information systems and services, prepare analytical reports and make recommendations to peers, management and senior staff as requested. Sr. Analysts usually work with minimum supervision, conferring with senior IT management and Business Specialists on unusual matters; may be assisted by Entry/Junior or Intermediate Level personnel, and have appreciable latitude for un-reviewed actions or decisions.

* A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, Business, Healthcare Informatics, and/or licensed healthcare professional is preferred. * Extensive working knowledge of key areas of the healthcare business. * 3+ years of experience as a Systems Analyst, Application Specialist or equivalent business experience. * Proven analytical and problem-solving skills. * Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written. * General knowledge of business systems, PCs, collaborative computing tools, information management in healthcare, general information architectures, systems integration, laws, and regulations. * Ongoing competency and certification in specific business systems/applications, i.e. Epic, Keane. * Some exposure to re-engineering and process improvement techniques.
