Responsibilities
* Responsible for operating liquid chromatography and mass spectrometer in support of laboratory research and for developing analytical mass spectrometry methods for the detection and quantification of bioactive lipids, drugs, metabolites and other related compounds. * Responsible for sample preparation of biological samples and synthesized chemical compounds. Providing day-to-day maintenance and scheduling preventative maintenance for Agilent LCMS. * Responsible for assisting laboratory supervisor and providing support to post-doctoral trainees and senior research staff with LCMS data analysis and data interpretation and contributing to the preparation of analytical reports, manuscripts, and scientific presentations. * Develop biological samples analysis using MALDI MS Imaging for analysis of biological samples as part of ongoing research. * Performs other duties as required.
Ideal Candidate
EDUCATION: Required: Bachelor's degree in one of the natural sciences or related field. **EXPERIENCE:** Required: Two years experience in scientific or experimental research work to include six months experience working with a mass spectrometry instrument (Liquid Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (LC/MS), Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS), Liquid Chromatographic Mass Spectrometry (LC/MS/MS) or Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry (ToF/MS)).
