Summary
McCormick Taylor is seeking a talented Stream Restoration professional for our growing Baltimore, MD office. This person isn’t afraid of a challenge and wants to be a part of a dynamic, collaborative team that is passionate about the work they do. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in stream restoration design, fluvial geomorphology, sediment transport, stream ecology and stream assessment.
Responsibilities
* The position involves assisting and leading the design of moderate to small projects and serving as an essential team member for larger projects. * This position will involve field and office work primarily in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Delaware and will entail physical and biological field surveys of streams, evaluation of existing conditions, impairment assessment and development of restoration solutions. * Some travel in the Mid-Atlantic region likely.
Ideal Candidate
* Knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic analyses (GISHydro, TR-55, TR-20, HEC-RAS) as well as geomorphic assessment software. * Related coursework, an interest in field work, experience with stream assessments a plus. * Strong writing, communication and, most importantly, critical thinking skills. * Bachelor’s degree is required; master’s is preferred. * Experience working the Mid-Atlantic region (Pennsylvania, Virginia or Maryland) preferred.
