Summary
Join a team that provides their IT professionals with the environment to use their creativity and problem solving abilities on a number of cutting edge and exciting projects. Our established client is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to join a seasoned team. In this role, you will be responsible for Linux systems administration, web server and application server support.
Responsibilities
* Build, maintain, and support SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for IBM Power. * NetScaler Application Delivery Controller, Load Balancer configuration and management. * WebSphere Commerce Enterprise integration and development supporting web site applications. * Supporting, monitoring and maintaining software, critical systems and highly-available systems. * Maintain knowledge base and ITGCs required to maintain compliance with PCI, SOX, and General IT best practices. * Help to ensure that all system backups are performed according to schedule and the backup tapes are rotated in the appropriate order. * Help to formulate and execute regularly scheduled maintenance of the systems. Ensure our disaster plan is effective and our machines are configured to handle the required workloads. * Responsible for the collection of system statistics and to assist management in the analysis of these reports. * Assist with the planning, organizing and implementation of new hardware and software. * Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of this position. * Participate in the Technical Services OnCall Schedule. * Maintain IS Knowledge Base Entries that cover topics in a manner that enable the members of Technical Services and Systems Support to answer and correct common problems.
Ideal Candidate
* 1-5 years of related experience is required, one or more which should include knowledge of IBM Power Infrastructure, IBMi and Linux Operating Systems. **Preffered Skills:** * Work experience within an Agile framework. * BA in computer science or related field.
