Buyer, Audiophile

Massdrop represents a new type of online experience that combines community, content and commerce. Massdrop provides enthusiasts across several communities—from audio and electronics to quilting and ultralight—a place to connect with one another, discuss their favorite products and activities, and buy those products together.

Massdrop is searching for an experienced Buyer to continue to expand our Audiophile community. Our Audiophile Buyer will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of Massdrop’s purchasing cycle. This includes identifying new products that would meet the demands of our Audiophile community, reaching out to vendors with access to those products, executing product launches, and ensuring that the products are sent out to the community smoothly. In this role, you will be responsible for engaging users in discussions, identifying new products, working with new and existing accounts, organizing product releases, and more. This is a challenging role, requiring sales or consulting experience and strong critical reasoning skills.

• Identify and source compelling products that are desired by the Audiophile community
• Negotiate deals with vendors on behalf of the Audiophile community
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure successful campaigns
• Perform analysis on existing sales and make strategy adjustments where applicable
• Monitor and engage with the Audiophile community through polls and discussions

• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Strong computing skills with experience in online communities (i.e. forums, reddit) a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated passion for the enthusiast customer
• Buying or sales experience and business knowledge preferred
• Experience in consulting or finance a plus
