Summary
MassDevelopment is accepting applications for the position of Senior Vice President (SVP) of Real Estate Operations. Pursuant to its mission to create jobs, promote economic development, and eliminate blight, MassDevelopment undertakes a wide range of real estate development/redevelopment projects either as the owner/developer or as the provider of support services such as feasibility analysis, master planning, permitting/approvals, market analysis, remediation, demolition/construction management, and engineering. The SVP position reports directly to the Executive Vice President (EVP) of the Real Estate Division and serves as the EVP’s deputy, managing the operations of the Division. Related tasks include overseeing the division budget, controls, and reporting mechanisms including reports for the CEO, Board, and its Real Estate Committee; materials for Agency annual reports; and quarterly performance reports.
Responsibilities
The SVP will directly supervise staff that are responsible for project management of the Agency’s direct real estate development projects and its technical assistance/planning projects for municipalities. The SVP will establish priorities for project managers; provide direction and oversight to keep projects on schedule and within budget; and assist in structuring and negotiating real estate transactions.
Ideal Candidate
* A bachelor’s degree and a graduate degree with a concentration in real estate, business, planning, law, engineering, finance, or economics is required. Equivalent training and experience can be substituted for formal education. * Minimum of 8-10 years’ professional experience and 5 years’ experience directly supervising staff is required. * A strong knowledge of real estate development is essential, and a strong knowledge of public/private development and economic development initiatives is preferred. * The ability to manage project teams and assets is essential. * Must be detail oriented and possess superior written and oral communication skills. * Must be proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
