CLINIC ASSISTANT II, MIT Medical-Eye Service, to be responsible for supporting the optometrists and ophthalmologists and for handling a variety of administrative tasks. Will obtain clinical information from patients; perform diagnostic tests; assist with contact lens fittings and conduct patient training in the insertion and removal of lenses; and perform other tasks as specified by the optometrist/ophthalmologist in providing complete and comprehensive eye care. Will also order contact lenses and maintain contact lens inventory, answer the telephone, perform telephone screening, schedule appointments via computerized internal and external appointment scheduling systems, be responsible for patient reception, and coordinate medical records and associated clinical and administrative documents.

**REQUIRED:** a high school diploma; two years of experience in healthcare, preferably in an eye care setting; demonstrated ability to display sensitivity to the needs of patients while working in a busy, team-oriented environment; and experience with personal computers and Windows-based computer applications, including proficiency with Word. Must be comfortable performing eye measurements and dilations while working in close personal space with patients.
