Accountant I

* Prepare & record monthly recurring journal entries primarily related payroll and benefit allocations. * Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, employer’s benefit costs, accruals and other. * Develop efficiencies in the close cycle and ensure that all steps in the close process are adequately documented. * Ensure Sarbanes Oxley compliance and policies are adhered to. * Distribute departmental expense summaries and GL details monthly and assist in answering questions received from various departments. * Participate in annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes by preparing, distributing and coordinating forecast templates across multiple departments. * Serve as a backup for other Corporate Accounting responsibilities such as including tasks in the consolidations process. * Assist in fielding and resolving inquiries from management and external auditors * Participate in other special ad-hoc duties and projects required.

* Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting * Advanced certifications and/or degrees a plus: CPA, MBA, etc * 2-4 years of professional experience that includes payroll & benefits accounting experience * Experience with corporate accounting and/or public accounting is a plus * Experience with Workday is a plus * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Must have the ability to pay attentional to detail * Willingness to take on and assist with new and varied projects as they arise * Ability to multi task and stay organized * Ability to work well as a team as well as independently * Microsoft Office skills – Excel, Word and PowerPoint
