Summary
Mashable is seeking a video producer who breathes the Internet to work on our Watercooler stories. The ideal candidate understands how to create online videos with major share potential, and thinks in a way that might worry normal people. This person has at least five years experience in online video production, a master understanding of Adobe Premiere, skills with a camera and the ability to work on a deadline. Candidates must have a proven record of taking stories from pitch to publish, and experience with all the hard and soft skills of production: idea generation, professional communication, shooting, lighting, audio, writing, editing, interviewing, color correction, and publishing. We often attack projects as a team, so even if you have a specialty, it's important that you're comfortable with all the disciplines. Basically we are looking for a jack of all trades but a master of one.
Responsibilities
- Brainstorm video ideas with smart, wonderful people across several editorial teams (news/tech/biz/science/travel/lifestyle/etc) - Develop production plans - Write scripts and treatments - Work with closely with talent (both human and otherwise) - Direct video projects - Shoot on location or in studio - Edit footage using Adobe Premiere and After Effects - Meet deadlines - Make work you're proud to share
Ideal Candidate
- 5+ years experience in online video - The ability to execute projects from brainstorm to pitch to publication - Work with the Video Director and Viral Content Editor on projects - Experience managing a small crew - Fluency with Canon DSLRs, C100's and more - Video editing ninja skills in Adobe Premiere - Demonstrated ability in field and studio production - Interest and knowledge in pop and web culture - Familiarity with Canon DSLRs - A positive attitude that doesn't suck
