Summary
Mashable is seeking a RevOps Technology Specialist in either New York or Los Angeles with a technical and project management background. They will be responsible for all technical projects and to manage all of our advertising systems. Some of these systems have been built in-house and others are off the shelf. As the RevOps Technology Specialist, you will report to the VP of Revenue Operations and work closely with Engineering, Product, QA, Rev Ops, Pricing & Planning and Sales. In so doing you will become a go-to resource for all issues and questions related to ad technology and will develop a deep product expertise of our operational technologies. We are looking for a self-motivated & detail oriented individual with a strong technical aptitude and exceptional analytical skills – someone who can coordinate between the business & engineering teams to effectively implement projects from requirements to completion.
Responsibilities
* Become an in-house technical expert for ads with the site & product teams and for all systems & platforms used by the Revenue Operations team (ad server, order management system, in-house ad creator, Flite (or other Rich Media vendor) and any other software, tools or technology used in the delivery, management and reporting of advertising for our clients) * Provide technical assessment, analysis and evaluation of new ad products, custom ad units and partners in addition to leading the implementation of such products * Utilize JavaScript and basic HTML & CSS skills to inspect & troubleshoot custom ad creatives (including takeovers, pushdown units, and mobile ads), and act as the lead developer on all advertising related technical projects. * Supply technical guidance to Sales, Revenue Operations and Account teams to assist in resolving technical obstacles * Liaise with Mashable Engineering & Product teams where Server or Client input is required to resolve ad infrastructure issues and represent the Revenue team on any product re-launches to ensure a quality ad experience * Work with the QA teams to drive exceptional testing quality and provide final business UAT
Ideal Candidate
* Self-motivated & detail oriented individual with a strong technical aptitude and exceptional analytical skills – someone who can coordinate between the business & engineering teams to effectively implement projects from requirements to completion. * Outstanding troubleshooting, follow-through and problem solving skills, resourcefulness, and attention to detail * Ability to keep pace with rapid changes in ad products and business requirements * Strong communication skills, particularly the ability to explain technical issues in 'layman's terms' * 3-5 years profession experience with a minimum of 1-2 years of experience specifically in technical support, engineering, sustaining engineering, or systems engineering (preferably in an ad technology role) * Hands-on experience with web debugging and developer tools * Understanding of HTTP, including headers and response codes, and networking-related protocols * Solid foundation in JavaScript
