Summary
Mashable is looking for a Financial Analyst to join our growing Finance and Operations team. An ideal candidate has a strong analytical background and is comfortable communicating financial insights to a broad audience. This person should be self motivated, flexible, and a quick learner. Responsibilities
* Track revenues and costs associated with key projects and initiatives, provide spending updates, and facilitate budget management * Provide spending updates and facilitate active budget management. * Develop strong relationships with key project managers * Report on historical variable costs to establish trends and inform pricing strategy * Assist with creating and updating Forecasts, Budgets, and Business Plans * Assist corporate accounting during month end close to ensure timely and accurate financial results * Work closely with Sales, Revenue Operations and Mashable Studios to ensure revenue and costs are being recorded accurately by department, brand, and project * Ad hoc analyses as required, including pulling and blending data from various sources, creating reports in Excel, interpreting the results and communicating recommendations to management
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field * 2+ years experience in a similar finance role * Experience in Media or a high growth company preferred * Strong quantitative/analytical skills * Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills * Experience with Intacct, Salesforce, Tableau a plus * Organized, detail oriented, proactive, able to multi-task and manage multiple concurrent responsibilities and requests * Excellent communication and relationship building skills - the ability to work with teams internally and externally * Ability to work well in a fast paced, ever changing environment.
