Personal Trainer

Mary Greeley Medical Center has been providing high quality, cost effective health care services to the residents of central Iowa for more than 90 years.

Position Summary: Under general supervision provides personal training and individualized exercise instruction. Ensures all actions taken in carrying out responsibilities support patient centered care.

Independent Contractor shall comply with Medical Center orientation, health, education and competency assessment requirements as outlined by Human Resources policy. Independent Contractor shall be responsible to the MGMC Rehab & Wellness Director regarding the quality of service and conformance with MGMC's policies and procedures. Upon signing and returning this agreement to MGMC, the Independent Contractor agrees to follow and complete all requirements according to Human Resources (HR) policies. The Human Resource Department shall inform the contractor of all requirements and shall provide the documents and explanation necessary for completion of the HR process. Independent Contractor shall possess a personal training certification from at least one of seven (7) NCCA Accredited Personal Trainer Certification programs: - a. American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) - b. American Council of Exercise (ACE) - c. National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) - d. National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) -e. National Federation of Professional Trainer (NFST) - f. National Exercise & Sports Trainers Association (NESTA) - g. National Council of Strength & Fitness (NCST) Required Qualifications (Including any licensure, certification, education): Fitness industry certification (A.C.E., A.C.S.M., N.S.C.A.) Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Skill in effective oral and written communication in English. Skill in communicating with the public. Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Experience: One year of experience in the field of personal training
