Marshalls is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of superior natural stone and innovative concrete hard landscaping products supplying the construction, home improvement and landscape markets We currently have a very strong focus on increasing production capacity to meet growing demand, manufacturing innovation and new product development. Manufacturing, Innovation & Design (MI&D) is instrumental in helping the business achieve these objectives. Our highly skilled and very experienced team provides all of the technical engineering capability and expertise required to enable the business to create, install and maintain new and existing UK manufacturing facilities. Our remit ranges from converting vacant Greenfield sites into fully operational manufacturing facilities right through to designing, engineering, constructing and installing bespoke automated equipment and kit that’s required to handle bulk materials, to make mould and move concrete products around the site and to perform special purposes within the production process. We are now looking to expand and bolster the MI&D team and are therefore recruiting for several key positions. This is a very exciting time and a fantastic opportunity to join a highly experienced and talented Engineering team that specialises in Mechanical Design Engineering, Bulk Materials Handling, Mechanical Handling Plant and Special Purpose Design.

* Production of manufacturing drawings / generation of solid models and engineering drawings from information supplied by project engineers * Construction of bills of material * Production of technical specifications for subsequent purchasing * Maintenance of Drawing Office records * Liaison with other sites, collaborators, contractors and suppliers as required * Participation in design reviews * Providing information to sites and collaborators in the relevant format in a concise and timely manner * Participation in cost build-up developments * KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS * B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent * A good understanding of Quality Systems and standards such as BSI * Clean driving licence * SKILLS * A keen eye for bespoke design and innovation – can see the solution where others may not * Extensive draughting experience using AutoCAD and 3D, Solidworks preferably * A thorough understanding of Drive and Transmission calculations and specification * Good IT skills * Aware of Quality Systems and safe design practice * Worked within medium / small engineering businesses * COMPETENCIES/BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES * Exceptional problem solving skills * Resilient and Pragmatic, with a real ‘can do’ * attitude * Agile and Flexible – able to embrace change and explore new ways of working * Ability to remain calm under pressure, inspires confidence and credibility in others * Exceptional time management and organisational skills, can handle multiple project at the same time * Has a strong work ethic, leads by example and does what it takes to get the job done * Excellent communicator at all levels both verbally and in written format
