Video Producer

Marginal Revolution University is an innovative online education platform that helps professors teach and students learn the economic way of thinking through video. The MRU team creates and markets engaging, high-production value videos and online courses that supplement the traditional classroom experience.

Marginal Revolution University is seeking a full-time video producer to join its growing team. If you have the combination of a background in both filmmaking and economics, we are looking for you!

• Manage the creative process for the entire production lifecycle of a video, from concept development through post-production

• Collaborate with talent to write educational and engaging scripts

• Work with editors to achieve high quality teaching videos; set the bar on quality

• Work with external contractors and production staff to produce videos on time and on budget

• Plan in-studio and location shoots; 2-4 days of travel per month on average in order to direct talent on set

• A background in video production

• A firm grasp of economic concepts

• An understanding of various approaches to teaching using video

• An ability to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like atmosphere

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
