Summary
The Unified Communication Architect will be the enterprise IT technical owner, advocate, consultant, advisor and designer for IP Telephony, email, voicemail, instant messaging, video conferencing, audio conferencing and desktop video. This position requires working out of the Company’s headquarters in Findlay, OH; some travel is required.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of corporate employees and multiple third party relationships to manage and evolve Collaboration technologies at a Fortune 25 company. - Enterprise level thinking to envision, design, and execute on Unified Communications Road map. Strive for broad integration of communications technologies and work against point solutions.Evangelize benefits and evolve to an integrated platform for all collaboration technologies. Microsoft Live Communications Server / Lync / Skype for Business, Exchange Unified Messaging, Cisco Unified Call Manager. - Conduct regular knowledge sharing and technology planning workshops with key external suppliers. - Interface with other IT areas on the behalf of end users. - Provide problem resolution and Tier 3 support for issues and outages.Focus on system issues, not a single user. - After hours support may be required at times for high priority issues and requests. - Assist other IT areas with projects and technology upgrades. - Stay knowledgeable of the latest technologies, trends and strategies within the industry and company. Identify if they can be utilized to improve productivity or decrease costs. - Stay knowledgeable of local and corporate standards and procedures. Ensure all work adheres to applicable standards or procedures. - Conduct self-audits when requested to ensure adherence to IT standards and procedures. - Obtain a growing knowledge of the business departments' functions and processes. - Perform special projects and other duties as required. - Supports the corporate culture by personal involvement in activities to enhance performance in Health, Environment and Safety & Corporate Social Responsibility.
Ideal Candidate
**Technical experience relevant to:** - Deployment and configuration of Cisco IP Telephony systems; Cisco Call Manager 9.x or greater - Integration and deployment of Enterprise voice with Cisco and Microsoft Lync 2013 or Skype for Business Unified Communication platforms - VoIP network architecture and design, hardware and software and support - Telephony system and voice services capacity and performance planning, reporting and metrics - Understanding of Analog and digital voice communication, call signaling protocols, class of service, Call Admission Control, SIP, Network Routing, MPLS, Quality of Service - Experience with Unified Messaging and voicemail system features and service - Experience with audio conferencing system features and service - Understanding of video conferencing, video streaming, and related video components and network protocols - Ability to program in PowerShell, and scripting languages - Understanding of F5 Load Balancer technology - Experience with Microsoft Active Directory - Responsible for the design, capacity, management, standardization, and roadmap for existing Microsoft Exchange environment of around 25,000 mailboxes.Ensure full redundancy as well as high available for a responsive system with 100% uptime. - Responsible for directing the implementation of Anti-SPAM / Anti-Virus protections of email environment which today consist of Exchange Online Protection, TrendMicro Scan Mail, Symantec Endpoint Protection, DLP, FireEye Devices, and other technologies. **Competencies** * **Critical Thinking:** Identifying and understanding issues, problems and opportunities; using data analysis to draw conclusions; using judgment in choosing a course of action; taking action that is consistent with available facts, constraints and probable consequences * **Collaboration:**Identifying opportunities and taking action to build strategic relationships between one's area and other areas, teams, departments, units, or organizations to help achieve business goals. * **Managing Priorities:**Effectively managing time and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently.
