The Maintenance Technician supports maintenance and operations to maximize equipment condition and machine uptime. This position is responsible for all reactive, proactive and preventative maintenance tasks. In addition they are responsible for continuous process improvement where possible.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
- Responsible for troubleshooting day to day process and equipment issues and ensuring quick response time to Machine Operators calls.
- Responsible for supporting maintenance reactive, proactive and preventative tasks.
- Responsible for supporting the operations group to produce the highest quality product in accordance with Maplehurst Bakery quality standards.
- Perform frequent line checks and communicate with teams on production issues on a daily basis.
- Responsible for maximizing machine uptime.
- Assist in day-to-day support of operators, adjustments, setups, and change over.
- Adhere to Maplehurst Bakery safety policies and procedures.
- Responsible for supporting Maplehurst Bakery team goals of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost Team and Projects.
- Responsible for supporting reduction of scrap and for improved cost/productivity.
- Responsible for project planning and execution
Other Necessary Functions:
- Monitor radio for production process requests constantly throughout the shift and gives direct to direct reports as needed.
- Follows all policies, procedures, ergonomic standards and safety requirements directed by Maplehurst Bakery and the department.
- Performs other duties as requested by management.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 year Mechanical/Electrical back ground or related experience is required.
- 2-4 year Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics preferred but not required.
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong computer skills
- Strong communication skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude of packaging machine operations preferred but not required.
- Strong decision making/problem solving skills
- Self motivated team player with a positive attitude
- Ability to be punctual, get along with management, and others
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to work flexible hours as required
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a frequently basis.
- Ability to lift 100 pounds occasionally
- Ability to frequently kneel, squat, bend, stretch, twist, and reach overhead
- Ability to work on ladders and lifts occasionally at a height above 20ft.
