Systems Engineer

This position will work remotely but in tandem with a number of teams in MailChimp’s Atlanta headquarters to support infrastructure and monitoring for large-scale projects and products that reach millions of users around the world. We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about technology, excited by challenge, and able to switch tasks quickly without compromising quality of work. An ideal candidate has solid experience, but should also be a strong team player who’s self-motivated to succeed.

* Provision, configure, and maintain servers and services at MailChimp’s Seattle data center * Work collaboratively with MailChimp’s Atlanta-based Infrastructure, Data Science, Network Systems, and Product teams to support infrastructure and monitoring for large-scale projects and products

* Minimum of 1 year, but ideally 3 or more years, of experience working within large-scale Linux environments (minimum of 100 servers, but ideally 1,000 or more), including monitoring, configuring, and provisioning those servers and the services running on them * Experience with system level troubleshooting (understanding of logs, strace, netstat, top/htop, iostate, etc.) * Skilled in Linux (intermediate to advanced), Apache/Nginx (intermediate), Zabbix/Graphite/Similar (intermediate), Bash/Python/Ruby (intermediate), MySQL/PostgreSQL (beginner to intermediate), and Puppet * Bonus points for knowledge of containers or VM platforms
