Senior Engineer

Magoosh started in 2009 with four co-founders and a few computers. Today, our team is growing fast and our products are used all over the world in more than 180 countries. Millions have studied with us, downloaded our apps, read our blogs, and watched our videos. Every day we work with thousands of students to help them get the scores they need to get into the schools they want.

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help us improve our products, shape engineering process, and help us grow our small but impactful engineering team. We have over 1 million students using our free products and tens of thousands who have paid. So far we use Rails (the core of our application), PhoneGap + AngularJS, RubyMotion, GitHub, and we’re hosted on AWS. We first and foremost care about helping students, and we’ve turned test prep from a necessary evil into an enjoyable experience at an affordable price.

* Collaborate on architectural and product decisions * Take on a variety of challenges: improve our educational statistics algorithms; architect a system to support students taking multiple exams; help us access and use our data to help students improve their scores * Mentor and provide feedback to the engineering team * Interview new software engineering applicants

* 3+ years of software engineering experience * Experience building and releasing web and/or mobile applications * Experience interviewing software engineering candidates * A passion for making a difference and leveling the education playing field **Extra credit if you have...** * Experience recruiting and hiring software engineers * UI & UX experience
