Summary
This position is responsible for the execution and audit of quality systems within company manufacturing facilities. The position is also responsible for the assurance of incoming quality through supplier quality audits. The Senior Quality Engineer will liaise with the manufacturing facilities to ensure that the QA system is functioning properly. Where appropriate, this position will advise on changes and implementation of changes as well as provide training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve quality.
Responsibilities
* Complete supplier quality audits. Liaise with customers' auditors and ensuring the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers' specifications; * Complete analysis of processing and product parameters to enable production at consistent high quality levels. Prepare monthly and status reports with regards to essential duties. * Ensure compliance to quality manuals. Monitor and advise on the performance of the quality management system and produce data and report on performance, measuring against set indicators. Ensure that quality tests and procedures are properly understood and followed by the plant and lab technicians and product modifications are investigated if necessary. * Establish correlation of raw material attributes and finished product function to improve relevance of purchasing specifications. Determine statistical need for incoming inspections and testing. Ensure that company products and services are fit for purpose and meets both external and internal requirements, compare with customer requirements, including legal compliance and customer expectations. * Standardize the treatment of non-conforming material. Create and implement quality inspection techniques for product deemed to be out of specification within production environment and address proper disposition of such inventory with best financial outcome. * Perform internal quality audits. Review plants conformance with quality norms. Ensure periodic review with QA Techs, Supervisors, and Operators of the product requirements. * Coordinate with Technical/Warranty group on response to field complaints for factory defects, making use of current or enhanced field complaint system.
Ideal Candidate
* A Bachelor s Degree in Engineering, Math, or a related degree is required. * A minimum of 2-4 years of experience working with quality systems is also required. * Familiarity with manufacturing processes, as well as six sigma methodology/TQM/Continuous improvement/SQC is highly preferred. * Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with mathematical and analytical skills are also required
