Web Design Manager, Enhancements

Macy’s is looking for an experienced Web Design Manager, Enhancements to join a growing design team focused on “changing the face” of macys.com by adding new, fresh, fun functionality to our site. You will manage a team of designers and work closely with our user experience partners and merchandising/marketing peers while staying current with market trends and user interaction to best translate both the internal business strategy as well as external competitive landscape. The Web Design Manager will translate said knowledge into a creative strategy that furthers company objectives.

* Oversee a team of designers. * Take an active role in leading conceptualization sessions with team members. * Give art direction that will include aesthetics, web usability, site architecture, and functionality. * Cultivate and manage relationships with corporate partners and outside vendors. * Multi-task to meet tight deadlines. * Deign wireframes and articulate customer experiences to design team as well as cross-functional partners. * Identify new opportunities, tied to design, for the business. * Tackle assigned challenges assertively and through forward-thinking design while leading others to do the same with great results. * Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality

* Degree in Graphic Design, Art or other related field or equivalent work experience preferred. * 5-7 years of experience in graphic design/art direction, with an emphasis in retail. * Strong UI/site architecture experiences preferred. * Photo art direction experience is a plus. * Excellent communication & organizational skills with a thorough attention to detail. * Fashion-forward and high taste level. * Proficiency in PhotoShop, Image Ready, Illustrator, Flash or InDesign on the Macintosh platform. * Ability to meet tight deadlines. * Work well under pressure * Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
