Maana is looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team in Bellevue, WA. As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will take ownership of sections of the product and will be immersed in all aspects of the development cycle: planning, scoping, design, coding and testing using an agile process. You must be innovative, flexible, self-directed, and able to design and write efficient, reliable and maintainable code. The ability to function at a very high level in a fast paced environment along with a team of very talented engineers is essential. You will maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and provide technical leadership whenever necessary for successful project delivery.

* Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or relevant Engineering discipline. * 7+ years professional experience in software development. * Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis. * Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (verbal & written). **Preferred Qualifications:** * Experience with functional languages such as Scala or Haskell. * Experience with Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Accumulo or Spark). * Experience with Linux development environment. * Experience mentoring and grow junior software engineers. * Experience influencing software engineers’ best practices within your team.
