Pension Actuary

M Financial was established with a new distribution network of entrepreneurial Member Firms. Working together with select carriers, we created better products for affluent clients and distributed them through this exclusive network of Member Firms.

* In this role, you will be responsible for performing actuarial calculations and valuations for nonqualified executive benefit and pension plans, then communicating the results in both written and oral form to internal and external clients. * You will also consult with clients regarding their benefit plans, interpret actuarial results as they apply to plans and provide insights and suggestions for future plan management. * Another area of focus will be to manage projects, and in doing so, to demonstrate accountability for ensuring elements of projects from multiple departments come together to meet project milestones and client deliverable deadlines. Remaining current on nonqualified plan actuarial practices and developments in that marketplace will also be key to success in this role.

* Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, economics, or finance. * Enrolled Actuary designations; ASA or FSA a plus. * 7 years’ experience as a benefit actuary * Excellent mathematical and analytical skills * Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook * Advanced Excel skills * ProVal or Visual Basic experience a plus * Exceptional project management skills, including a demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple, simultaneous projects * Ability to work effectively as a member of a team as well as independently. * Excellent problem-solving skills as well as ability to exercise independent judgment and make decisions * Strong oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to translate technical material into user-friendly communications
