Data Analytics Intern

The Lytx Advanced Technologies Group codes and analyzes algorithms that decide when an important event has occurred during the course of driving. The Data Analytics intern will work on data mining and predictive analytics supporting Lytx’s products. This is a great opportunity for a student who wants to gain hands on experience in the world of Data Science.

• Design and develop analytical models to solve key business problems and improve client performance, retention and satisfaction
• Query databases to analyze data gathered from the device to find trends, evaluate effectiveness of the algorithms, and report basic statistics on functionality
• Assist on projects led by other team members via data processing, programming, monitoring of an application already deployed to production, etc.

• Currently enrolled in an accredited university/college. Preferred: student starting their senior year pursuing a quantitative major (i.e. physics, mathematics, stats, computer engineering)
• Ability to code in at least one programming language, e.g. Python (preferred), R, Octave
• Basic knowledge of SQL database
• Enthusiastic about getting real world experience working with SQL queries and visualizing data Ability to seek simplicity rather than complexity when addressing problems
• Strong communication skills
