Summary
The Foundation is currently seeking a Graphic Designer to assist with the design of the Foundation’s print and digital materials for educational and public awareness materials including brochures, annual reports, flyers, event signage, advertisements, email, social media and other digital assets. The designer reports to the Foundation’s Public Relations Director and will support the Foundation in a wide range of marketing efforts including national campaigns such as the Lupus Foundation of America’s Walk to End Lupus Now™, Lupus Awareness Month, and KNOW LUPUS.
Responsibilities
- As a member of the Marketing and Communications team, the position is responsible for the design of lupus education and resource materials, i.e. brochures, fliers, fact sheets, and posters. - Key functions include the design of materials specific to certain Foundation campaigns and events, ie. Walk to End Lupus Now™, Lupus Awareness Month, Evening of Hope Gala. - Support design needs for the Foundation’s website and digital platforms, such as the e-newsletter and social media. Manage print production for all Foundation collateral. Support the Marketing Team in maintaining and ensuring brand consistency and voice across the Foundation’s national network of chapters, regional offices and community partners. - Work collaboratively and strategically across departments (research, education, advocacy, fundraising, and network development) to support organization-wide design needs. - Coordinates projects with outside agencies, art services, printers, etc.
Ideal Candidate
- The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design and 3-5 years of graphic design experience. Possess experience and have an understanding of the importance of maintaining a consistent brand identity. - Demonstrate an ability to manage a project from concept to completion. - Creative ability to think outside of the box. Maintain knowledge of the most current design trends and implement them in designs where appropriate. - Advanced-level proficiency and expertise with various software programs including InDesign, - Photoshop and Illustrator (Adobe Creative Suite 5). - Demonstrated knowledge of the fundamental concepts of print, the web, typography, color, and other basic graphic design principles. - Ability to successfully work in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment. - Consistent in efforts to express opinions and collaborate with the team. - Must be detailed-oriented with excellent organizational skills. Experienced in print production. - Ability and willingness to work on a PC platform. - Provide regular contributions to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
