* Direct and administrate IT Infrastructure team and workload. Provide guidance to * members of the team. Manage operational costs. * Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the * organization’s executives, decision-makers, stakeholders, department heads, * and end users regarding pertinent IT Infrastructure issues and activities. * Manage and ensure effectiveness and optimal operation of IT Infrastructure, * and their associated operating systems and software. Responsible for on-site * and off-site data centers. Assess, approve, and administer all equipment, * hardware, and software upgrades. * Practice IT Infrastructure asset management and monitoring, including maintenance * of component inventory, life cycle management and related documentation. * Provide daily and technical guidance and assistance to other IT staff. * Assess, prioritize and supervise new and ongoing IT Infrastructure issues and activities. * Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans * for compute, storage and network resource administration and appropriate use. * Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and * services Prepare and coordinate splice requests and other activities with our IRU partners. * Prepare RFPs, bid proposals, contracts, scope of work reports, and other documentation * for IT projects and associated efforts. * Design and implement short and long term strategic plans to make certain compute, storage * and network capacity meets existing and future requirements. * Conduct research and make recommendations on network products, services, protocols, * and standards in support of IT Infrastructure procurement and development efforts. *

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. **Education:** Four Year University degree or college diploma required; preferably in the field of computer science or other related academic fields. **Special Training or Competence:** * 5 years of experience managing and configuring enterprise-wide LANs, WANs, * WLANs, VPNs, etc. * Exceptional knowledge of service and application delivery, as well as successful * service level agreement accomplishments. * 2 years successful leadership of an infrastructure team. * Excellent knowledge of current protocols and standards, including Active Directory, * Group Policies, MS Exchange, Core Switching/Routing, SSL/IPSec, SAN, * Virtualization, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery. * Hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware such as servers, routers, bridges, * switches, hubs, modems, network interface cards, wiring. * Experience managing IT Data Centers, including security, fire suppression, HVAC, UPS, * Power Distribution etc.
