Summary
The Business Analyst is part of our analytics product management team, and will work with clients and development teams to drive the design and development of innovative products for our software application. You will understand customer and product business needs, gather and document associated business requirements, participate in technical design, and collaborate with development teams to execute and ensure successful release of features and functionality.
Responsibilities
* Perform project analyses, working closely with Product Owners, clients and business stakeholders to understand, capture and detail product need and impact * Develop functional and non-functional specifications for data- and analytics-related projects including complex business rules, data and application dependencies, logic flow diagrams, validation methods and acceptance criteria * Work closely with internal and external clients, product owners, user experience designers, developers and testers to ensure clear understanding of requirements, and high quality implementation * Facilitate the design and development of product features; may perform project management responsibilities * Participate in the design and testing phases, including design and testing of prototypes and orchestration and sign-off on acceptance test results to ensure design integrity * Develop an in-depth understanding of the product and underlying models/methods, and be knowledgeable on related cutting edge methods, tools and technologies * Research and analyze problems, and recommend solutions * Act as a subject matter expert for development of user guides, release notes, marketing and training materials
Ideal Candidate
**Experience, Qualifications, and Education** * Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, required * 2-4 years of experience working as a Business or Systems Analyst, or related discipline in the healthcare or software development industry * Experience gathering and translating market and product requirements into clear, concise product design specifications * Experience documenting business requirements for healthcare data or analytical solutions strongly preferred * Experience with relational databases , including the ability to write SQL queries, and understand data models and system dependencies strongly desired * Aptitude to understand methodological and statistical underpinnings of the product, and framework and technology back end of applications and reporting systems, including big data concepts and methodologies * Experience creating actionable reports and dashboards desired * Experience working within a customer organization leveraging strong interpersonal skills to enable interaction with and gathering requirements from various business areas * Strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to write reports, proposals, business specifications, user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria * Familiarity with healthcare industry (hospital, payer, provider and/or other healthcare delivery organizations) and associated data, regulations, payment models and technologies strongly desired * Ability to work independently and in team environments to meet deadlines and produce quality results * Excellent analytical, listening, presentation, and communication skills * Experience working with agile development methodologies highly desirable
