Summary

This person designs engaging tools for digital storytelling and thinks about how to monetize online user experiences. The Senior Online Producer understands how to translate business requirements into products that are a delight to use and thrives working in a fast paced environment. He or she understands current trends in online publishing.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, expertise, and creativity in developing the digital strategy for the magazine's editorial and business products.
  • Have web development and design experience, familiarity with Wordpress, display advertising, email marketing, SEO/search optimization tools, social media, and analytics.
  • Have experience leading change and innovation within an established successful business environment.
  • Manage a Jr. Producer and work with multiple company departments.
  • Develop online standards, new web features, and systems for generating a large volume of daily content.
  • Lead in responsive design and mobile-minded tools.
  • Drive SEO principles and standards.
  • Manage a large content systems and ad networks.
  • Work in conjunction with Emmis Publishing entities and the Senior Manager of Digital Media.
  • Help with the research and development of future products that promote web content, such as new website features, newsletters, mobile apps, interactive digital editions, and other such products that support revenue and audience growth.
Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis on design, digital media, journalism or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in digital publishing, websites, social media, or a related field.
  • Ability to update and maintain Wordpress websites daily.
  • Ability to create and manage email marketing campaigns, lists, delivery, and reporting, including experience with A/B testing.
  • Experience with Sailthru a plus.
  • Experience with Google Analytics or similar tools.
  • Expert knowledge of online/mobile advertising.
  • Experience using Double Click or other ad serving platforms.
  • The ability to traffic ads including third-party ad tags..
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and development partners to improve consumer user experience on mobile and web platforms from concept to launch.
  • Ability to use HTML, CSS, JavaScript to improve front-end templates for web and email campaigns.
  • Ability to craft user stories, user experience profiles, and wireframes a plus.
  • Familiarity with Adobe creative suite master (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, etc.).
  • Understanding of UX/UI design principles and experience applying them a plus.
