Responsibilities
* The Suite Maintenance Mechanic Level 3 for CT is responsible for preventive and demand maintenance of suite equipment systems relating to Manufacturing equipment used in Cell Therapy operations, periodic inspections of utility systems to ensure proper operation and perform daily checks/repairs in compliance with company and departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This role will focus on project based activity for the next 12 months as the manufacturing equipment is fabricated, installed & qualified. Hence the focus will start on gaining an understanding of equipment operation and working with the vendor and customer in development of the preventative maintenance plan and overall maintenance approach for the CT process. **Key role content & requirements are as follows:** * Individual will maintain records to comply with Good Manufacturing Practice requirements. * Individual will be used to working in a fast-paced, safety-oriented, team environment. * Familiar with the concepts and approach required to develop a preventative maintenance plan for new / bespoke equipment. Most typically risk based tools such as FMEA, Criticality, Spares definition and management, development and use of reliability metrics. * Perform daily inspections of GMP equipment systems to ensure proper operation. * Initiate work orders for system deficiencies requiring investigation or repair. * Execute routine and repair work orders as assigned by Suite Maintenance Supervisor. * Responsible for preventive maintenance of suite equipment systems in the Portsmouth manufacturing facility. * Perform moderate to complex troubleshooting and repairs of production systems. * Assist/Coordinate customer, contractors and vendors to ensure equipment is maintained in full operational status. * Work with Level 1and 2 Mechanics to increase their knowledge of the CT equipment systems and assist with their training. * Performs tasks that are routine in nature where the ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required. * Performs all work safely. * Respond to maintenance calls in a professional and timely manner. * Organizes and plans assigned daily activities to ensure timely completion of assignments. * Overtime may be required with adequate advanced notice to facilitate the Manufacturing schedule and Suite Maintenance weekend coverage rotation. * Keeps all areas clean and well organized. * Documents work to cGMP requirements in logs and work orders. * Responsible for maintaining all training documentation on related aspects of job. * Learns and performs well-defined procedures. * Continue with ongoing training to increase knowledge and understanding. * Basic decision making, knows when to seek help and who to contact. * Able to identify situations which may require escalation to supervisor. * Exercise clear, concise communication via e-mail, phone, and person to person. * Perform moderate troubleshooting and repairs of manufacturing production equipment. * Respond to manufacturing maintenance calls in a timely manner. * Perform preventive maintenance of manufacturing production equipment when needed
Ideal Candidate
* High school Diploma or Equivalent required * 3 year’s experience in related complex equipment maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment. * 1 year of experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry performing equipment maintenance activities * A working knowledge of shop math (with assistance of calculator). * Ability to read, write and follow technical instructions in English. * Ability to utilize troubleshooting/hand tools. * The ability to document all work performed in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices is required. * Training is everyone’s responsibility (being trained and being pro-active in getting trained). * It is an expectation that everyone who is trained, lends their knowledge in getting others trained. * Express values of the company in a positive manner. * Constructive proactive communication. * Positive team oriented attitude. * Familiarity with the use of computers. Word, Excel, Outlook or equivalent. * Ability to comply with detailed procedures. * Must possess the physical strength required to perform field work. * Must be able to read building, piping and equipment drawings. * Must be able to work with minimal supervision. * Must be able to work within manufacturing driven timelines. * Other departmental duties as assigned.
