Summary
This position requires an Aircraft Structural Analyst to use their technical expertise to develop innovative and ingenious solutions to highly complex technical problems. Assignments could be in stress, external loads, structural dynamics or flutter.
Responsibilities
The candidate will be expected to define plans and goals, assess analysis approaches and results, define any required testing, and ensure all structural integrity requirements are met. The candidate will provide status reports and report major findings to management and customers, and advise management on structural questions. The candidate will be capable of planning and initiating their own work, and assigning and checking the work of their team members. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Ideal Candidate
**Basic Qualifications** * Must be a US Citizen, position is located at a facility that requires special access * Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or Civil Engineering or equivalent * Experience with structural analysis by hand methods * Familiarity in CAD * Must have a secret clearance prior to start or a secret clearance with a background investigation within the last five years and the ability to obtain SAR clearance/ access **Desired skills** * Active Secret clearance * Experience building finite element models, running analysis, interpreting results, with MSC Nastran preferred * Experience using LM Aero Common Analysis Tools including SLIM, TMP Vision, IDAT * Matlab, Simulink, Fortran, C * Familiarity with CAD, with CATIA V5 preferred * Excellent writing and communication skills * Composites and metallic analysis
