Summary
As a QA Engineer you will be challenged to find creative ways to solve problems, explore new technologies and contribute at every level of the QA process. In this hands-on position, you will design and implement a complete software testing strategy to achieve measurable improvements in software quality. You will be involved in the software development process on a daily basis and guiding developers to design testable software. Additionally, you will be responsible for running regression test suites, capturing quality metrics and reporting any issues that arise. This is an excellent opportunity for entry level candidates in the field or mid level candidates who are looking to grow their career.
Responsibilities
* Design, write and execute test cases. * Take ownership of quality testing standards using multiple methods. * Work with developers and domain experts to design specific test plans and scripts. * Capture quality metrics and benchmarks to effectively measure software quality. * Document software issues using an issue tracking system.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical experience. * Strong problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills. * Experience designing and implementing tests for desktop applications. * Customer and quality focused with excellent attention to detail. * Proven ability to learn complex software from both the user perspective and that of the developer. * Demonstrate a clear understanding of different types of testing and the role each plays in the development process. **Desired Additional Skills:** * MSBuild and TFS Automated build * Client/Server, website and services installation experience * Scripting unattended installations * Familiarity with Visual Studio, C#, VB.NET, and/or Python * Agile/SCRUM methodologies * Licensing software * Automating builds to include installer generation * Experience with bug tracking software, preferably JIRA * Code signing
