We are looking for a Lead Ruby / Rails Engineer to join the Consumer Engineering team.

Your responsibilities:

• Build intuitive, responsive experiences our millions of customers will enjoy engaging with every day
• Help customers find what they’re looking for, and discover new things across our varied suite of offers
• Find new ways for our customers to engage with us through sharing, personalization, etc.
• Personalize our content to provide the most value to our customers
• Optimize placement of promotions to deliver measurable ROI to merchants
• Work with our shared services teams to implement and integrate with our backend platform

Desired skills, experience & qualifications:

• 8+ years of web development experience; preference given to candidates who have experience with large applications of some scale
• Exceptional competency in object-oriented programming
• 4+ years experience developing in a web framework, with Ruby on Rails background
• Solid foundation/knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
• Experience working across the software stack (Ruby on Rails, JavaScript/CoffeeScript, MySQL, Redis)
• Excited about deploying to production multiple times a day
• Comfort collaborating daily with your team (could be a distributed team) and other groups
• You can take smart risks and champion new ideas
