Summary
Liberty Mutual Investments IT supports the investment front and back office functions within the Investments Department. This role is a Senior BI Developer on the Front Office Development and Data Management team.
Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and document highly complex technical solutions in a Microsoft business intelligence environment (SSAS, SQL Server, and SSRS). * Provide ongoing performance monitoring and tuning, and automation of production activities related to BI environment * Work in conjunction with business analysts and other users acting as a liaison between technical and business departments in developing dashboards and other BI related solutions. * Extract complex data from multiple sources into usable and meaningful reports and analyses * Design, develop and test high-quality data delivery tools * Troubleshoot issues and bugs within the data delivery platform analyze reasons for failure, implement optimal solutions, and revise procedures and documentation as needed * Collaborate with other BI Developers and contribute to the team goals and objectives * Create and maintain detailed documentation for the development and production teams * Support user community on data analytics when needed * Develops/implements guidelines and standards.
Ideal Candidate
**Desired skills:** * Bachelors or Master's degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience. Generally 5+ years of professional experience. * Business intelligence/data warehousing technology skills with proven expertise in Microsoft BI stack (SQL Server, SSAS, SSRS, TFS & PowerBI) * In-depth understanding of building complex multidimensional / tabular cubes and querying them using MDX/DAX * Experience in fine tuning the performance of SSAS Cubes. * Experience in at least one reporting platform (SSRS/Tableau/Spotfire/Qlikview) * Experience working in a fast paced, high energy environment; Agile/Scrum experience is desired. * Good knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, methodologies. Thorough knowledge of diverse technologies and new technical architecture principles and concepts. * Strong negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills. * Strong oral and written communication skills; presentation skills **Highly competitive applicants will have:** * Technology experience in a complex, multi-platform distributed environment. * Experience in the Investments domain * Exposure to EDW methodologies such as Kimball v. Inman * Experience with Microsoft BI technologies is highly preferred * Understanding of ETL/data integration methodologies and patterns * Good Knowledge of BI tools like Tableau, SSAS
